I think that about half of the books on this list i read from the eigth grade to now. Some of them however i can see why they need to be banned but come on Harry Potter, and The Giver are two of the most widely read books in history.

i dunno what’s wrong w/ flowers for algernon (not that there’s anything wrong with anything on the list, but one can see how madonna’s “sex” might provoke a draconian or two)…maybe whomever objected watched the movie “charly,” based on “algernon”…it has a fantastic trip sequence!

man. that’s some wild stuff. interesting that “Daddy’s Roommate” was on the list, but not “Heather has Two Mommies,” or what ever that title is. also, i’m not real well read in judy blume, but i can’t imagine what the problem with those could be. also, “flowers for algernon”?

Yeah, I think I’ve read about half of those and I see a lot of my childhood favorites on the list (The Giver, Bridge to Terebithia, The Great Gilly Hopkins, A Wrinkle in Time, Huck Finn, James and the Giant Peach (?!) and of course all Judy Blume…)
I’m surprised His Dark Materials hasn’t made it on there yet.
