No–on your site you repeatedly criticize “educators” (or “elite educators,” because, hey, for some reason “elite” now has a negative connotation). Again–have you ever taught in the classroom?

A minor mistake needs correcting. I don’t write about teachers, of English or otherwise. I write about the Education Establishment, the people who control policy. In my view, students, parents and teachers are equally victims of the many bad ideas dreamed up by the Education Establishment.

The verb in the post, “abolish,” means “to destroy,” “to do away with,” “to remove,” etc. I’m not interested in “improving,” “ameliorating,” or “amending” NCLB. I think it’s been disastrous, frankly, and calling it an effort to “raise standards and improve education” is either stupid, or disingenuous, or both. Are you a teacher? Have you suffered through this? Or do you just spend all your time writing clever essays to point out how terrible educators, particularly English teachers, are, because they just don’t see how “simple” and “obvious” all those “universal truths” of the world are? Readers, if you care to encounter Brucie’s charming attacks on deconstruction, moral relativism, and multiculturalism, then make haste to his (garish) website.
