Backwards:
1. I didn't read Blindness. I'm still slogging through The Savage Detectives, but the stack of review copies I'm trying to process is delaying that. I heard the movie sucked.
2. I'm down for a viewing, pending obtaining a sitter.
3. So, you didn't cry at the end of The Road? Jamaican sun and rum are no excuse! We will need proof of your heart! ;)

I'm very curious about this one. I read it while on a brief holiday in Jamaica last February, right after I finished Tree of Smoke. Dave had just finished it and was crying as he closed it. Since I had no other reading materials, and he had been so absorbed by it, I had to give it a go. Reading it in such a beautiful, warm place was the probably perfect antidote to the potential depression it could have brought on if I were reading it on a freezing cold and dark NYC evening. The the hopelessness quickly lifted as I put it down and grabbed a rum and pineapple and some jerk chicken. I'll forever associate that book with Jamaica. Strange.

We'll be in Jax for nearly a week over Thanksgiving, and would love to catch the film with the klept!

I'm equally curious about the film adaptation of Jose Saramago's Blindness. I think highly of the book, but the film is getting very mixed reviews, so I'm hesitant. Might skip that one.
