Why the game of hypocrisy is fundamental to the maintenance of culture and civilization. And why most men feel cut off from themselves. Would we be able to stand an ideal society? Eternal paradise must become boring after a few millennia. Hence the breakdown into sensual extremism. And why the gods play war games with the planets, even though it is a costly karma. A Benedictine monk told me that the reason their order prohibits (self) flagellation is that it is too sensual.
