Watched this the other night with my girlfriend and, damn!, what a bittersweet treat. As with every viewing, I was on a roller coaster of ups and downs, laughs and cringes. (I fully grasp what you mean by “the Horror/Comedy Axis”) I never realized, until now, that the still that maintains throughout the credits can be interpreted to encapsulate the film entire. It’s almost as if we’re looking at hands on the surface of a TV screen, rather than the inside of a limo car door.
