I love being introduced to new poems I connect with. For some reason Langston Hughes has been someone I’ve overlooked in my poetry gathering. It’s no coincidence that this poem is titled “Soft as it began–.” That line transforms what otherwise could read like a note jotted down in a journal into something touching and evocative.
