I recently read Robert J Richards’ “The Tragic Sense of Life” about Haeckel, and although certainly put off by the direction in which he took Darwinian theory, I did fall in love with his amazing illustrations. This one in particular is so beautiful.

Oh, cool—hadn’t heard of the book. I’m a huge fan of Haeckel’s stuff, which I sort of found backwards (through Walton Ford). I’ll lookout for the Richards.
