Excellent books. The stupid HBO animated version is to the comic what “The Neverending Story” movie is to Michael Ende’s fantastic novel; a butchered mutant of a thing.

Not aware of an HBO version. I know Miyazaki adapted the first few comics into a film though—it’s the first Studio Ghibli film.
