Jackson Pollock Documentary

  1. It took from Friday until after midnight last night to get YouTube to give this video up to me. While trying to get the whole movie in one piece for a single uninterrupted reading, I must have gone through it 10 times on UT. I tried 5 different applications for downloading YouTubes into my computer before it was successful. You must have started a run on this video. Now if I can find the time to sit down and watch the whole thing from start to finish in one sitting. My experience with catching the doc in fits and starts was what it is like going to a museum and viewing ‘infinity up on trial’. Stop motion from one painting to the next. I wonder what an exhibit is like to an artist for whom the experience is a continuum. Old Jackson must have been a good old boy in his soul in that he moved out to the duck farms and pig sties of Eastern Long Island. Away from all those fat Manhattan matrons who wanted to get laid by a ‘cowboy’. Too bad he drank too much, as it would be great to have a village of elders like Jackson, Jack K, Marilyn, and some more of the bright stars of our intellectual and sensual minds to age with. Only the good die young. And we are left holding our minds in our hands.
