I’ve always enjoyed Hughes, esp’ his grand-scale treatment of American art for PBS. I agree w/ everything he says in the presentation. However, I do enjoy Damien Hirst, and think he’s a great artist (though some of his work of the last five years has dipped off dramatically). I know many people disagree and will call me w/e b/c of that, but I stand by my thoughts on Hirst. The art-market truly has made art no longer about art, which is criminal.
