  1. I love the way he uses darkness. His work reminds me a bit of Hopper in the way the background seems to loom over the lonely figures. There’s almost a supernatural threat there. It’s the kind of darkness we fear as kids because it’s so deep and heavy that it can’t possibly be hiding something mundane
