Klaus Dinger (drums) and Michael Rother (guitar) quit shortly thereafter and went on to form NEU!, introducing the “Motorik” brand of Krautrock (hypnotic, mechanical drumbeat). Although they achieved only nominal success in their own time, their influence has spread wide and far beyond the Krautrock genre.
