So this film adaptation isn’t perfect—obviously—but I think it’s a fair adaptation. Clearly a movie will have difficulty representing a novel that takes part mostly in three minds, but I think that it does a fair job with the themes and settings…It might actually make a good intro to anyone who feels daunted by the novel—I think if you know the basic plot, Ulysses becomes much more readable.
