Amazing! One of my favorite films, and though I like John Phillips contributions, it’s a bummer that Bowie’s unused original scoring was declared, “too spacey for a film set in the Southwest”. Stomu Yamashta’s compositions, and Desmond Briscoe’s electronics, somehow weren’t too alien? I wanna hear those Bowie cuts! Also, had to repost this.

“Subterraneans” from Bowie’s album Low is apparently at least partly based on Bowie’s discarded soundtrack work for The Man Who Fell to Earth.
