Truffaut’s work is full of quick visual inflections that reveal who the subject is. This work is an essence of French cinema.

Always a great way to compare this with ‘400 Blows’ the year after. Both are great.
‘Day for Night’ and ‘Bed and Board’ are my personal favorites of Francois’s. A director who constantly reminds us of the joys of making cinema and the entertainment that can come from watching it.
